Hooray for ME!!

This post is all about me, because I completed my first triathlon this morning! Thanks to my friend Rachel who invited me to join her, I signed up for the Subaru Women's Triathlon in Federal Way in June. I've been training over the summer, and did a few fun 5K runs to get ready. We both did the sprint distance triathlon, which was about a half mile swim, 12 mile bike, and a 4 mile run. We finished strong and had a lot of fun. The bike and run courses were quite hilly, and it was challenging! But, we are strong and powerful women!!

Stu and Billy cheered me in at the finish line, which was a perfect finale to the race. My finishing time was 1:59:30. We all wore timing chips around our ankles, and the different legs of the race were recorded. My swim was 20:38, transition 1- 6:05, the bike- 48:42, transition 2-3:44, and the run- 40:23. Hooray for me. It was lots of fun, and very satisfying to complete.
Thanks also to my aunt June for the bike, and to aunt Elizabeth and uncle Roger for bringing it to me from Boise, ID. It worked out wonderfully for me.
I hope that Ruthie will join me next time!!

Back Again

Stu's back home!!!- and I'm back on the blog again.

We managed to survive 4 months apart, and have had a wonderful reunion over the last five days. Stu flew in Friday evening, and I was able to pick him up at the airport while his mom watched Billy. The first hug brought such joy and relief! Later that night Billy got a sleepy surprise when he woke up and saw his daddy's face next to mine. He smiled and giggled shyly; the next morning let out energetic excitement repeating "Daddy's Home! Daddy's Home!" He hasn't settled down yet, and still makes that proclamation several times a day. He definately had not forgotten Stu, and the two of them clearly adore eachother. The family is back together, and it's wonderful.

I haven't captured a blog-worthy photo of Stu yet, but when I do I'll post some pictures. Thanks for all the support over the last four months... we couldn't have made it without all of our family and friends!!
